You are about to experience something special.
By walking just a mile, you will view a variety of habitats including
a wetland, a short-grass prairie, and a riparian area.

Watch, listen, and enjoy this natural oasis in the city.

Trails are family and kid friendly.

The wildlife refuge's character is very fragile.
Please practice good stewardship when you visit.

Hours are daily from sunrise to sunset.
Admission is free.

Bluff Lake Nature Center Rules:

Please, no dogs. Even leashed dogs are stressful to wildlife

No bicycles. Bluff Lake is a wildlife refuge and great for passive recreation.
A bike rack is provided for your convenience.

No motorized vehicles. They are not safe for wildlife or walking visitors.

No horses. Horses may be ridden on Sand Creek Regional Greenway Trail.

No food or drink beyond the Bluff.

No collecting.

No fishing, hunting or sledding.

Please help us preserve the wildlife refuge.

 

Stay on trails. Walk quietly. Do not harass wildlife.

Martin Luther King Boulevard (MLK) is now open
and connects Quebec Street to Bluff Lake.

Bluff Lake has a parking lot on top of the bluff and
provides a bicycle rack.
